What is Beat plan in FMCG:
A day level route plan made for the salesperson to make visits to a number of stores at a predefined frequency. The objective can be to get Orders, capture visual merchandizing, geotagging etc..

Objectives of Beat optimization:
Every outlet is serviced by a salesperson on the predetermined day at the predefined time

At a high level the requirements are :
1. Visit the Modern trade stores at frequent intervals (say once a week)
2. Visit the smaller stores , at a less frequent interval, say once a month
3. Cover as many outlets (new, existing) as possible in the shortest time achieving targets
4. Avoid coverage of duplicate outlets, closed outlets
5. Take into consideration dynamics like weather, traffic conditions, holidays, big events etc.
6. Service the outlet at the given time and date

Solution Approach:
1. Real time beat distances and time can be calculated using Open Source engines
2. Use Advanced Analytics to get the Beat Zoning based on the constraints/inputs & basis the objective to maximize

Benefits:
1. 25% increase in efficiency & productivity gains
2. 30% increase in order deliveries
3. More time spent at the outlet than in travelling
4. Better ETA, increased customer satisfaction
5. Decreased fuel consumption
